I love making trinket boxes – using the crafting technique known as cartonnage!
I begin by measuring and cutting the various box pieces from mountboard and then carefully stretch polyester batting and fabric over them to create the sides, base and top, or lid, of the box. The exterior and interior surface pieces are then securely glued together and finally I hand stitch the side seam and base join to complete the box!

Full description
Robins fabric covered trinket box with a removable lid, padded and lined. It would be perfect as a decorative box gift, or as a reusable gift box for a special present.
Measures 6 inches (15 cm) square by 4.75 inches (12cm) high.
The exterior is covered with a Christmas patterned luxury fabric and the interior surfaces are covered with a sweet robin design fabric. All fabrics are 100% cotton and all surfaces apart from the box base are padded.
Entirely handmade, this box would make a wonderful, reusable Christmas gift container. It could also be used to store small baubles or other trinkets from year to year.
