I purchased some hazel logs, and they came with some small pieces of burl. Although it was only ever going to be a small pot, I was really excited to turn this piece and I love the result.

This pot is turned from natural hazel wood. It is finished with a commercial orange oil and beeswax (Howard feed-n-wax)

Full description
This is a small pot, turned from a hazel burl, with a significant bark inclusion and void (a third of the side is missing). This is a small, artistic bowl, useful for knick-knacks, trinkets, buttons, stitch markers or other small objects.
The burl shows amazing swirls of grain, on inside and out, and the wood is smooth to the touch. The outside is flat while the inside walls are bumpy but smooth.
The little pot is around 6cm in diameter, 4.5cm high and has an internal depth of 4cm.
It is finished with an orange oil and beeswax product and is really tactile and a joy to hold.
Primarily a decorative piece, the totally unique pot shows off the amazing quality of wood burls and is just lovely to look at. It goes without saying it should not be used for food or drink (you'll get wet!)
Please make sure you check the dimensions, this is a small pot.
Wood is a natural product, and over time with changes in humidity can warp and in extreme circumstances small cracks can appear. This is a normal part of owning hand turned wooden items.
