I had a small piece of oak offcut from another project. I love oak, I love chunky pots and bowls, and I hate wasting wood, so I turned this little pot and I love it. I hope you will too.
Safety information
This pot is turned from natural oak, a hardwood. It is finished with beeswax and natural resin.

Full description
I really enjoy turning chunky pots and bowls, and this small pot is exactly what I enjoy oak to look like when it's finished. The piece of oak had a bark inclusion which has been left in the bowl, complete with a small void. There are no sharp edges and the oak is sanded and polished smooth.
A gentle concave curve on the outside of the pot helps it sit nicely in the hand when picked up, while the inside has straight walls and a curved bottom.
The grain pattern is lovely, with strong contrasting browns and the deep brown of the bark inclusion.
The pot is around 55mm tall, the walls are approximately 10mm thick, the inside depth is around 38mm.
This lovely heavy pot would be ideal for small trinkets, rings, buttons, coins, etc. It should not be used for food or drink.
Wood is a natural product, and over time with changes in humidity can warp and in extreme circumstances small cracks can appear. This is a normal part of owning hand turned wooden items.
