I love making bags! This bag was inspired by the pattern "Quilted Backpack" by the designer, Monkey Buttons. I attended a bag making course a couple of years ago and learnt so much about bag construction. There is so much to consider - not just the exterior fabric, but the lining, the fittings (strap rings, zips and so on) and the all - important interfacing. Interfacing gives a bag structure and form and a professional finish.

Blue and cream soft quilted backpack, handmade in shades of soft blue and cream.
Made entirely from premium cotton fabric, it has a top flap with button closure and a drawstring cord around the top of the main body of the bag. There are matching shoulder straps and also a grab handle. enabling you to either wear the bag on your back or carry it by hand. Please note that the shoulder straps are not adjustable for length - in the photo I am modelling the bag, which fits me comfortably (I am 63 inches tall).
I have quilted the main body of the bag with a wavy pattern, both on the outside and the inside. The top flap, base and straps are quilted with straight lines.
The bag measures 15" (38cm) high by 11" (28cm) wide by 7" (18cm) deep. In the photos I have placed a rolled-up bath sheet into the bag, to give you an idea of its capacity and how it will look when about 23rds full. It is hand washable.
