I love making bags! This bag was inspired by the pattern "Button Lock Bag" by the designer, MrsH. I attended one of MrsH's courses a couple of years ago and learnt so much about bag construction. There is so much to consider - not just the exterior fabric, but the lining, the fittings (strap rings, zips and so on) and the all - important interfacing. Interfacing gives a bag structure and form and a professional finish.

A lovely blue and cream metallic butterfly print bag with button lock detail.
This lovely bag measures 10" (25.5cm) wide x 10" (25.5cm) high x 2.5" (6.5cm) deep.
For the exterior of this bag I've used a beautiful gold and cream butterfly print fabric for the front flap and sides and a complementary medium blue linen texture fabric for the main part of the bag and the adjustable strap.
The front button lock is a real feature in gold coloured metal and it co-ordinates with the two circular strap rings and the adjustable strap slider.
Inside the bag you will find a pale blue and gold print fabric lining with a zipped pocket and also a slip pocket. Furthermore there is a hidden pocket underneath the flap on the back panel.
