I saved some sycamore that was destined for firewood, and wanted to use all of it, even the small pieces.

The bowl is natural spalted sycamore. It is finished with a commercial resin beeswax product (Alfie Shine).

Full description
This small pot (box in woodturning terms) has been turned from spalted sycamore. The spalting and figure look amazing, with the contrast between golden wood and deep black lines.
The lid is a loose fit, heavy, and has concentric rings turned into the underside. The spalting on the lid looks like an ancient map of some kind!
The box itself has thin, elegant walls, and an conical shape, giving the whole piece a unique appearance.
The box is approximately 65mm high, the base has a diameter of approximately 70mm and the lid approximately 58mm. The internal depth of the box is around 33mm.
Wood is a natural product, and over time with changes in humidity can warp and in extreme circumstances small cracks can appear. This is a normal part of owning hand turned wooden items.
