I try to capture the little details, I look for pattern in nature.

My background is in textile design, although my career has gravitated more towards illustration.

I find inspiration in nature; the markings on a butterfly’s wing, sunlight on fur, are never ending sources of fascination and delight. My background in textile design has encouraged an interest in the applied arts and I like to incorporate decorative elements in my work to enhance the narrative.

My book illustrations have been published by Blackie and Son Ltd, Collins, Penguin etc. and more recently by Long Barn Books. I have worked extensively in the greeting card industry and with ceramic manufacturers both here and in the USA. I have also created ranges of fabric designs for the home and quilting industries.

Currently I am a member of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers and The Hilliard Society and exhibit regularly with both societies.

My studio is in Cheshire close to the border with Staffordshire and I have enjoyed collaborating with the many ceramic factories that were based in the Potteries.
