Inspired by the joyous, vibrant May celebrations of Jack in the Green in Hastings. Jack, the huge dancing foliate effigy is flanked by his men, the Bogies who are very naughty indeed! With their green tatter clothes, ivy crowns and green faces, they are the backbone of the procession and this is my homage to them!

Full description
Handmade ceramic wall plaque of Bogie Benjamin, one of Jack in the Green's henchmen. Benjamin is always there to ensure that Jack has room for dancing, a clear path to process and plenty of beer to keep him going! Beware he doesn't get you with his little green sponge. Bogies are green all over.....!
Benjamin is lovingly glazed with a matt finish face, with glossy hair and a beard and a green glossy ivy crown. He also has a cheeky eyebrow ring! A wire hanger is on the back for hanging.
I AM AN EARTHENWARE CREATION - that means that although I am beautiful and strong, I should ideally spend my life indoors. I can be put outside during warmer, dry weather but please take me back inside when it gets wet and cold so that the frost and damp don't cause me to crack.
