This piece was turned from part of an oak beam that I reclaimed from an old barn in Fort William years ago. Usually I would leave an old nail hole for character but it looked odd being right in the centre of the finished bowl so I drilled it out and popped in a contrasting dowel which pleasingly highlights a natural circle in the grain. I'll admit that was more luck than judgement!

Full description
Oak bowl turned from an old oak beam. Contrasting dowel in the bottom to fill a nail hole which contrasts with a similar sized circle in the grain pattern. Finished in danish oil and wax. Size: H 6cm W 17cm.
