I love making trinket boxes – using the crafting technique known as cartonnage!
I begin by measuring and cutting the various box pieces from mountboard and then carefully stretch polyester batting and fabric over them to create the sides, base and top, or lid, of the box. The exterior and interior surface pieces are then securely glued together and finally I hand stitch the side seam and base join to complete the box!

Full description
A beautiful metallic floral fabric covered trinket box lined with purple satin. It is also padded and has a removable lid.
Entirely handmade, this box has a multitude of uses...it can be used to store remote controls (as shown in one of the photos), pairs of glasses, loose photos, coasters....the list is endless! It would also make a wonderful, luxurious reusable gift container.
The overall size is 7 inches (18 cm) wide by 7 inches (18 cm) deep by 5 inches (12.75 cm) high.
The lid is 7 inches (18 cm) wide by 7 inches (18 cm) deep by 2 inches (5 cm) high and it fits onto the base, which is 6.25 inches (16 cm) wide by 6.25 inches (16 cm) deep by 4.25 inches (10.5 cm) high.
