I love making trinket boxes – using the crafting technique known as cartonnage!
I begin by measuring and cutting the various box pieces from mountboard and then carefully stretch polyester batting and fabric over them to create the sides, base and top, or lid, of the box. The exterior and interior surface pieces are then securely glued together and finally I hand stitch the side seam and base join to complete the box!

Full description
Floral fabric covered trinket box, fully lined and padded with a removable lid. Entirely handmade, one of a kind and unique.
The lid measures 6 inches (15 cm) square by 2 inches (5 cm) deep, whilst the base measures 5 inches (13cm) square by 4.25 inches (10.5 cm) deep. Both the lid and the base are fully lined and the lid fits snugly onto the base. With the lid in place, the total height is 4.75 inches (12cm).
The exterior is covered with a lovely printed floral fabric and the interior surfaces are covered with a co-ordinating purple patterned fabric. All fabrics are 100% cotton and all surfaces apart from the base are padded, which gives a luxuriously soft texture.
Entirely handmade, this box has a multitude of uses including storage for pairs of glasses, coasters or small remote controls, cosmetics, trinkets, candy, sweets or even as a luxury, reusable gift container.
