After starting with needle felting I learnt to wet felt to complete a project. Then I decided to try to make a fleece rug from a sheared raw fleece using the wet felting technique. I love working with the sheep’s wool.

Full description
This beautiful rug is handmade from a sheared Hebridean sheep’s fleece. I wet felt a wool backing to the fleece to make it useable and hard wearing.
This rug has beautiful tones of browns and greys throughout. It measures 33” x 29” (84 x 74cms) It has a very firm backing and would make a very hard wearing rug.
