Archaeological discoveries and the artifacts displayed in museums around the world are my source of inspiration as a designer and maker. My passion is also connected with a love of gemstone and bead collecting during my travels, especially to New Zealand, Crete, and southern Spain. Full description
These minimalist earrings are inspired by some of the naturally darker jewels of the earth: they are made from a stack of three tiny pieces of raw snowflake obsidian, arranged above a single black pearl, set between two glossy glass seed beads. Both the earring wire and the earring hooks are made from solid 925 sterling silver wire, which has been shaped by hand.

The oldest known piece of obsidian jewellery dates back to the eighth millennium BCE, and was a bracelet discovered at an archaeological site in Turkey. Snowflake obsidian gets its name from its inclusions of snowflake-like spherulites of cristobalite.
