Abstract sculpture.
Black ceramic stoneware.

This is a high quality black extra fine stoneware vase. I use the traditional method of Kurinuki, allowing a single block of clay to dry before carving and hollowing by hand. A green glaze was then applied to this piece, resulting in an interesting oxidised reaction with the clay in the kiln.
