Goldstone is not a natural gemstone, but is a manmade glass, also called Aventurine glass.
Goldstone comes in brown, blue and green.
Brown Goldstone is made by allowing copper salts to dissolve in molten glass, then cooling the liquid very slowly, allowing octahedral copper crystals to grow. It is these crystals that give the sparkle and colour.
The blue version used here substitutes cobalt, giving the resulting glass a more silvery glitter, set in deep, midnight blue, like the night sky.
I have reinforced the celestial theme with glass pearl 'moons' and Tibetan silver stars.

Full description
Deep blue Goldstone necklace embellished with palest blue Czech glass Pearls and 5mm Tibetan silver stars.
The centrepiece features a 13x18mm Blue Goldstone pendant highlighted with tiny sterling silver spacers and 6mm Czech glass Pearls.
To either side are rows of five 6mm Blue Goldstone beads set with a 5mm Tibetan silver star bracketed with 4mm Blue Goldstone and 4mm Czech glass Pearls.
The Pearls have a lovely sheen and have just a hint of icy blue colour.
The Tibetan silver stars are nickel and lead free.
The necklace graduates to 4mm Blue Goldstone set with 4mm Pearls, and fastens with a Tibetan silver toggle clasp.
Blue Goldstone is also known as blue aventurine glass, and is a manmade, deep blue glass, with glittering silvery sparkles deep within, that has been described as looking like stars in a night sky.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon, UK, this would make a lovely birthday, anniversary or valentine present, a gift for your mum or best friend, or maybe a treat for yourself.
This sparkly necklace measures approximately 16.5inches (42cm), but length can be adjusted to suit - message me via the link below my shop banner.
