Larvikite seems at first glance to be a mottled stone of paler and darker grey until light reveals hints of a silvery sheen and flash of blue.
It is named after the region of Larvik in Norway, and was named Norways national stone in 2008.
Serpentine is often referred to under trade names such as New jade or Olive jade, depending on the colour, but is not a Jade at all.
It ranges in colour from a darker green-brown, greyish-green and pale yellow-green.
These Austrian made glass crystal bicones are top quality and have a lovely sparkle when they catch the light.

Full description
Each sparkly earring features a 6mm grey Larvikite and 6mm yellow-green 'Olive Jade' (aka Serpentine) bead, highlighted with 3mm quality Austrian crystal 'lime' bicones and topped with a trio of crystals in the colours 'black diamond', 'lime' and 'jonquil'.
Fresh, Spring colours and very light and easy to wear.
The beads are threaded onto gold vermeil pins and hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with gold.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, these would make a lovely gift for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day, or as a treat for yourself.
These earrings measure approximately 1.35 inches (3.5cm), excluding the wires.
Price includes delivery within mainland UK.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
