Full description
A unicorn with a golden horn, with lots of rainbows. My hand embroidered textile art hoop is ideal for any one who loves unicorns and rainbows - whatever their age. It's also small enough to fit through a letterbox, so a great gift to send in the post.
Based on my own hand drawn design, this lovely little unicorn was hand cut from pure wool felt in white, and hand stitched to the rainbow background fabric with a small blanket stitch all the way round the outline. A layer of bamboo wadding helps create a subtle quilted look.
I then embellished him with more hand embroidery - using rows of chain stitch in blue-purple, pink and green to create a flowing mane and tail, and a satin stitch in a lovely gold for the horn on his head.
The finished textile art was then mounted in a wooden hoop, and completed at the back with a circle of dark pink wool felt carefully hand stiched all the way round in blanket stitch - so it is as neat as the front.
A simple white ribbon loop allows the textile art to be easily hung on a wall, or you can prop your picture on a shelf. Please display out of reach of young children.
Size - the hoop is 5 inches across, plus the hanging ribbon.
Care - dust with a dry cloth or brush
