I also sell craft kits and fabric supplies - and am moving them across to my new shop The Old Button Supplies - search for me on Folksy.
These vintage transfer papers from the 30s are so clever and versatile - allowing everyone to add beauty and charm to everyday textiles in their own unique way. I am using them to learn new stitches and techniques - both modern and traditional - and I hope to turn some into sewing kits so you can have a go yourself.

Just one red rose. A gorgeous gift or a beautiful flower to brighten up your day, my hand embroided rose picture was inspired by a vintage 1930s ink transfer paper. Hand stitched by me in DMC embroidery threads on a linen background, I chose a mix of traditional stitches to bring this beautiful flower to life.
The rose petals are embroidered in a combination of flat and raised satin stitch, in three different tones of red that just glow. The leaves are in a variagated thread using fly stitch, and the thorny stem is backstiched.
The finished picture has been stretched and laced over an acid free board with a layer of wadding, and backed with wool felt. It is available either framed or unframed.
Perfect for Valentines Day (or Galentine), or as a gift for Mum on Mother's Day, I can post this picture on your behalf - see my direct shipping upgrade listing.
Unframed - just the right size to fit through a letterbox, and can be displayed just as it is propped on a shelf or displayed on a little easel. Or you can pop it in a frame yourself - just be sure to choose one that is deep enough to accomodate the thickness of the picture (0.5cm).
Framed with cream mount - in a soft green frame that sets off the glowing colours of the rose perfectly and will suit most decors. It is unglazed, and can stand or be hung on a wall.
Size: the embroidered picture is 4 by 6 inches, the frame is 7 by 9 inches.
Care - dust with a dry cloth or brush
