Full description
Moongazing hares tote bag. This tote bag is made from dark blue upholstery fabric, and has an appliqué design featuring a forest scene. The scene features two hares, gazing up at the full moon. The hares are made from matching purple and lilac print fabrics, and have black sequin eyes. The moon is made from cream fabric with a slight sheen and is edged with circles of free-motion machine embroidery. In front of the moon are branches made from pale blue felt, with subtle blue and lilac flecks. The branches are adorned with small hand-cut purple felt leaves, which I’ve hand-stitched in place. Finally, there is a scattering of hand-cut purple and teal felt mushrooms, on which I’ve embroidered white French knot spots. They have hand-embroidered grey stems. The bag is lined with cream fabric with a woven pattern of shiny squares.
This practical but pretty tote bag is versatile and could be used for a variety of occasions. With its delightful and unique appliqué design, it would make a lovely gift for someone special.
