Full description
A tropical themed tote bag in a golden-beige upholstery fabric with an appliqué design featuring a cluster of hibiscus flowers amongst monstera leaves and other foliage. The hibiscus flowers are made from vibrant deep pink upholstery fabric. I’ve used free-motion machine embroidery to add pale pink shading to the petals. The yellow pistils in the centre of the flowers have been hand-embroidered. The monstera leaves are made from a lovely pale blue-green mottled fabric with a subtle print pattern of tiny flowers. There are also sprays of zesty green leaves. I’ve added three hand-made white lace flowers with yellow faux pearl centres. The bag is lined with deep pink fabric with a lovely sheen.
This delightful tropical tote bag is both pretty and practical, handy for all sorts of occasions. With its unique appliqué design, it would make a lovely gift for anyone who loves hibiscus and monstera.
The approximate measurements of the tote bag are:
14 inches (35cm) high x 12.5 inches (32cm) wide x 3 inches (8cm) across the base. The handles are approx. 24 inches (60cm) from end to end, and are of a length that can be worn on the shoulder or carried as a handbag.
