I began making moths in silver inspired by the Scarlet Tiger moths that appear in our garden around the time of the summer solstice each year. I loved making these “midsummer moths”, and they proved popular, so imagine my delight when I found out some species of moth are active during the winter months! This particular design is inspired by the Winter Moth, and I make others inspired by the December Moth.

Full description
Each of my moths is drawn by hand before being cut out from Eco Silver sheet using a jeweller's saw. The silver is textured all over using a hammer, and I solder on the little embellishments which are made from Eco Silver wire and melted scrap silver. Further details are added by hammering, punching and engraving by hand.
Dimensions - 25mm x 27mm at widest and longest points (including antennae).
Chain - Supplied with an 18 inch Italian sterling silver belcher chain (stamped 925). This pendant also looks lovely worn at a longer length, so you have the option to choose a 24 inch chain should you wish.
Eco Silver - Eco Silver is produced from 100% recycled scrap silver obtained from the jewellery trade and IT and medical sectors. It is an excellent choice for the eco conscious as it avoids unnecessary mining.
Your pendant will be presented in a little grey gift box made from 100% recycled fibres on a bed of 100% Eco Fibre filling, wrapped in a band of plant dyed raw organic muslin ribbon produced by fellow Folksy seller Earthed.
