Hi there and welcome to my shop. Here you will find old embroideries, vintage fabrics and sparkling remnants made into something pretty and practical once again. I re-stock slowly but surely, so do keep coming back for a browse.

An old mate, who I studied costume design with, gave me some lovely pieces when she was having a clear out. This unusual bit of vintage bedlinen was one of those salvedged pieces.

Full description
This sweet lavender bag is made from a fragment of embroidered vintage bedlinen. There are yellow flowers and green leaves embroidered on the front, and the back is cut from softly worn, vintage, broderie anglaise. Inside is nestling a little bag of dried lavender from North Yorkshire. Lavender has been used for centuries to aid sleep, scent clothes, and as a natural remedy for keeping out moths! So, pop it in a drawer for sweet smelling delicates, or under your pillow for healthy sleep. This little bag would make a lovely present for someone learning to embroider, for a fan of vintage textiles, or for Mum.
The bag measures 11cm by 10cm, and inside is nestling a muslin bag of dried Yorkshire lavender.
The front is a yellow floral design with some drawn thread work to help the scent escape through the tiny holes. The back is soft, vintage broderie anglaise.
There is a hook for a clothes hanger, or to hang up as a tiny piece of craft work in its own right, and it is finished with my own embroidered name tag.
I like to reuse, your little bag will be posted out wrapped in clean, recycled wrapping from my hoard, and sent as Royal Mail 2nd class.
