I love everything to do with fibre and textiles, from wool tops and wet felting to handdyed yarns and crocheting, from embroidery to quilt making.
I am a crochet designer with a head full of ideas and I sell both crochet patterns and finished items. I also love to wear brooches and combine that with my passion for wet felting, creating beautiful wearable art pieces inspired by the skies, the sea and the landscape around me.
The Vera and Bess in my shop name are my two grandmothers, who both loved to stitch. Vera liked to knit and helped me to make dolls house furniture when I was little. I particularly remember a miniature purple velour sofa... Bess always had a new patchwork cushion on her chair. They could both knit, sew and crochet, turning their hand to any needlecraft. They both passed on their passion, skills and joy in making to me, and every stitch I work reminds me of their connection to me and the legacy they have gifted me.
