I visited Japan last year and the beautiful textiles prompted me to incorporate them in my work. The way the Obi is made gave an instant lining for a bag so it was a no brainer really!

Full description
This gorgeous bag has been made from a Japanese Obi, the wide sash that is worn around a kimono. It is a beautiful peach coloured silk on both outer and lining, with a charming floral design on the outer in a white, gold and silver jacquard design. It would be ideal for an evening out or a special occasion.
It is made in a flat style to make it easy to carry in your hand and has a magnetic fastener under the flap for extra security. A thin layer of wadding helps to give a little more structure and comfort as you hold it.
Please note there is a small catch in one of the flowers to the left of the flap as you look at it, but this is barely noticeable and only mentioned for completeness. Please do not purchase if this would bother you! But it has been priced accordingly.
It measures 13” across the base and 7.5” tall.
