I’m enjoying working in this sustainable way, finding tired natural fibre bags and bringing them back to life giving them a purpose once again. This cute little wicker basket was just crying out for the revamp treatment. I hope you like it too!

Another Toots Totes vintage revamp completed! A little sewing basket or with that lovely handle it would make a cute mini handbag if you’re so inclined? It came looking a grey kind of forlorn but showed its true colours with a thorough wash and brush up and a pretty new cotton double lining layer sandwiching a polyester wadding to cushion your belongings. The lid lining is fashioned with a little central pin cushion.
It did have faux peaches on the lid but I couldn’t salvage them to my satisfaction, so added a homemade velvet rose to re-add the kitsch factor. It’s on a brooch pin so can be removed if you don’t like it!
The original nifty little peg and loop fastening at the front works well and stops the lid from opening in transit.
It measures 17 cms tall to the top of the domed lid and is about 51 cms in circumference at the base.
