I'm deeply inspired by the flora and fauna surrounding me, the idea that you can preserve a moment in time.
I strive to capture the essence of the plant its unique character, translating its organic lines into the enduring form of a vessel.
The sense of bringing the outdoors in.
All my work is sustainably made in my small garden studio ,surrounded by my own collection of garden flowers and often my beloved dog Ash by my side.

Full description
This handcrafted ceramic vase, is decorated with sage leaves, bringing a strong, natural and earthy feel.Contrasting between the strong stoneware and the organic movements that the sage leaves bring.
Each piece is unique ,it is handmade, embracing the imperfections unlike a mass produced piece.
The leaves have been arranged to showcase their natural beauty.
I work using the handbuilding technique, impressing the leaves into the clay, leaving behind a memory.
The vase is crafted out of stoneware and then fired to 1250'.
It is bought to life using a green colour wash to evoke the natural world, delicately applied so it can settle into the textured surfaces and crevices. The piece has then been glazed on the inside but left raw on the outside.
Approximately 13cm by 6cm.
It is the perfect vessel for a small posey of flowers or herbs..
Creating a final piece that is timeless and a celebration of nature's fleeting beauty captured in enduring clay.
