Family recipies handed down the generations. Welsh Cakes are sweet almost scone-like cakes cooked flat on a griddle, traditionally studded with raisins but I prefer mine plain. Bara Brith is a rich fruit cake, where the fruit is soaked overnight in liquid tea (no milk!) before mixing with the other cake ingredients.
Plus the Welsh flag colours of course....

Full description
Inspired by the soft warm brown tones of Welsh cakes and Bara Brith, this gorgeous slow stitching kit evokes memories of a good old fashioned Welsh High Tea. In a muted palette and with prints and textiles reminiscent of a Victorian parlour, the creams and browns are offset by the red, green and white colours of the Welsh flag.
Perfect for your next project - or a special St Davids Day gift.
Available in 2 sizes, the kits include calico foundation fabric for stitching on, embroidery threads in various colours, needle and pins and my slow stitching introduction and stitch guide leaflets.
And of course, the gorgeous textile scraps - carefully chosen for textural and visual interest. There are some lovely fragements of antique or vintage textiles I have collected over the years here in Wales, plus scraps from my patchwork quilting, and pieces salvaged from pre-loved clothes or furnishings.
Both sizes are based on the same main fabrics and trims shown in the photos - the larger box has larger pieces and more extras.
