Full description
A hipster take on the popular 'feed the bear' spoon - makes a great gift for someone with a beard and a big appetite! This hand stamped vintage silver plated dessertspoon has the words FEED THE BEARD in block capitals in the bowl. It's just over 18cm long, nice and heavy, with a 'fiddle pattern' handle engraved with an elaborate initial A. I think the spoon's Victorian so I used Victorian letter dies to stamp it. That sort of detail gives me great joy. Yes, I should probably get out more.
This listing is for ONE spoon. You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. The lettering is coloured with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic ink. Wash carefully by hand as the colour is not indestructible - the lettering, however, is stamped into the metal and should last pretty much as long as the spoon does.
Please note that this spoon is a vintage one, in fact I think it's antique, so it's a bit worn, scratched, tarnished and discoloured. I won't be a bit offended if you head off to someone else's shop at this point - if that sort of thing bothers you then this may not be the spoon for you. This spoon has been around a bit and has character. It's a survivor. If you were looking for a mirror-finished brand new spoon, this isn't one. Just so you know.
