Hi, I'm The Old Button - welcome to my shop and I hope you find lovely things that you would like to buy.
I post every day, using Royal Mail First Class for cards, and Track 24 for all other items, and I can post directly to the recipient - see my Upgrades listings. Dispatch times are currently 1-3 days for most of my makes, with a few taking longer as indicated in the item details.
In the busy run up to Christmas, I'm no longer taking commissions for my embroidered play scenes and my patchwork quilts, but I have gift voucher options. The last day for ordering my custom hand embroidered Christmas stockings and Child's Drawing Pictures is Monday 9th December. For all other items I will be open right up until Christmas week.
Thriough my makes I have a lot of offcuts and fabric scraps, and I wanted to use them (zero waste aspiration). This little card is inspired by the art of patchwork to use up scraps, and the traditional use of embroidery to mend/darn as well as decorate clothes and functional items.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
This is a sew it yourself kit for a lovely little card or mini picture using a patchwork of upcycled Welsh wool blanket scraps. Using a a number of decorative embroidery stitches, this is suitable for a confident beginner or intermediate sewist, with lots of detailed instructions provided.
Sent in an eco-cardboard box, this will fit through a letterbox. A great slow sewing gift for a crafty friend.
The scraps used in each kit will vary, but will be similar to the photos.
Recommended for adults, and older children with adult supervision.
This slow-sewing kit includes high quality natural materials, prepared for you to start sewing straight away. The wool scraps are ready fused onto a canvas foundation fabric, and full instructions are given to how to embroider the stitches and to attach to the backing fabric, and to the card if required.
It includes all the materials needed including the card and envelope, you just need to provide scissors for cutting the backing to size and snipping the threads.
WARNING - This kit contains functional sharp items (needles, pins etc) and these should not be left where young children can access them.
