Full description
This sweet, little pendant has a trapezoid piece of vintage fordite as its focal point. The fordite has been smoothly bezel set in sterling silver and finished with a simple loop bail. The pendant has an open back setting so is reversible, the pattern on the front is in shades of red, blue, gold and beige, the back has much finer stripes and a small section of concentric rings. Measures 27mm (inc bail) by 12mm and comes in a gift box with a sterling silver chain (if you'd prefer a leather or cotton cord drop me a message).
Never heard of fordite before? Its the name given to baked over spray paint from car factories, the paint builds up on rails in the spray booths and cured between each coating before eventually being smashed off. It can be cut and polished to show the many different colours and patterns. This particular piece has come from Ford's Dagenham plant in the late 70's, I have a very small stash of this material left and doubt I'll be able to get any more. Love the idea of fordite but not this piece - drop me a message I have a bit of a stock pile of rough material from different eras and manufacturers.
