Full description
This striking textile art picture designed by myself, features a pair of summer daisies; made using hand cut pieces of coloured fabric, applique and free motion machine embroidery techniques.
Pretty cotton fabrics were all hand cut into the flower pieces and applied to the backing fabric using free motion embroidery and adding detail - this technique has been described as 'drawing/sketching with a needle and thread'.
A machine stitched fine border surrounds the daisies to frame the image, and the edges are frayed slightly to add a rustic feel.
The piece has then been adhered onto black mount board ready to stand on a shelf or small easel. (Not Supplied).
The piece measures 20 x 18cms.
Makes an ideal smaller piece of art to add to a larger display of other pieces of botanical artwork, maybe in a conservatory or summer house, to further bring the outside in.
