These little earrings use two almost matched pieces of sea glass, some pieces that I find are so perfect and lovely I don't want to hide their shape in a beaded mount. I use sterling silver wire to create a simple cage to hold the glass and hang it from hand made silver ear wires. I try to keep the wire as simple as possible to allow the shape of the glass to be visible.

Full description
Delicate sea glass earrings, tear drop shaped and wrapped in silver wire. Another pretty pair of earrings using two very similar pieces of sea glass. The pieces of glass used in my earrings are never identical, real sea glass never is, but I try to match them as closely as I can. Fortunately the way that glass breaks often produces similar shapes, that's physics, so similar shaped pieces of sea glass are not that uncommon, never identical though! These two pieces are roughly tear drop shaped and white, presumably clear glass when it started it's life.
The glass is wrapped very simply in pure silver wire which has been melted into little blobs at the ends, this finishes the ends nicely and gives a nice organic feel to the piece. The ear wires are made from the same wire, a simple hook shape with a twisted loop to hang the wrapped glass. These two pieces have either come from one of the Ilfracombe beaches or from Combe Martin the next village along the coast.
