The inspiration for this piece are the streams which flow across the beach at Ilfracombe, these streams cross pebbles and rocks, creating tiny waterfalls between the levels. It's a piece which was started years ago and put aside as I didn't know how to finish it, finally inspiration struck after playing with fusing silver wire.

Full description
An unusual and stylish necklace made from fragments of sea glass and seed beads with sterling silver. The central 'jewel' is created by hand stitching rows of tiny seed beads around small fragments of sea glass,to create mounts for them. The beads then continue in sinuous patterns around the four pieces of glass, echoing the flow of water around rocks in a stream. At the upper and lower edges, a fringe of vintage, white and off white beads mimics the bubbles and foam in fast flowing water. At each end the patterns are continued in bands of hand woven brick stitch using tiny seed beads. Deliberate holes in the weaving give a lacy feel. Gradually narrowing into the necklace itself, the patterns broaden into patches of blues and greens. The necklace is fastened at one side to feature the hand made sterling silver T bar fastener, made from twisted and fused silver wire whose sinuous twists echo the patterns of the beads.
