I've been experimenting with polymer clay for years. I bought a pasta machine and very fine blades recently, which allows me to do things more quickly that took ages before. I really like using thin slices of translucent colour over a darker base to give a dimensional quality.
I wanted to give this a more vampiry, gothic feel than the usual heart pendants.

Full description

Unusual, black and red heart, slightly gothic. Made from layering thin slices of polymer clay over a red heart. Silver wire is embedded in the clay before firing to create the hanging loop for the black and red ribbons from which it hangs. The heart measures approximately 11/4" from top to bottom and about 3/4" across. The ribbons allow the necklace to hang from 18 inches to choker length.
