I've been making pieces with silver wire fused to them for a while, I started using more solid pieces of silver to see what would happen, I had some pieces of silver clay that hadn't fired well enough, or had air bubbles in them, this is one of those pieces, I wasn't sure if it would work but it has fused really well.

Full description
An eccentric heart pendant in copper with silver fused to the surface. The silver on this pendant is a piece of silver wire and a scrap of failed silver clay, from a collection of bits that didn't fire properly or broke after firing. The larger piece looks like a bird in flight to my eye, so that's why I've given it that title. The heart has a patina from reheating it lightly after cleaning it when the silver has fused, and is then curved in a doming block to give it an interesting shape. The pendant measures approximately 4.5cm by 2.5cm and hangs from the higher of the two lobes by a copper jump ring on a length of natural hemp cord. the cord is adjustable for length by two sliding knots, maximum length approximately 70cms.
