Each item you see is handmade solely by me from my home in Kent.
I started sewing on a vintage, hand turn Singer machine when I was 5 years old and haven’t stopped since. I am self-taught through reading every sewing book I can get my hands on and thank Tone Finnanger for giving me methods to use and incorporate into my own hand drawn designs.
My first fabric treasures were mostly patchwork quilts and cushions. I have always been fascinated with their uniqueness and the skills and accuracy involved in their designs. Not only do quilts offer the opportunity to recycle favourite, preloved garments into a whole new item, but they also have lovingly sewn into it a personal history full of special memories. Something bespoke and beautiful to snuggle under, made to last, with a lot of time and devotion- what’s not to love?!! Everything I now make is created with these sentiments at heart.
The arrival of my children introduced many new products, designed out of need, an inability to find what I was looking for on the high street and a desire to create something more personal with a higher quality finish. Toy storage solutions, cute tote-bags, a multitude of stuffed friends and home decor accessories followed. I also appliquéd many t-shirts and sweatshirts with the latest object of my child’s adoration: diggers, fire-engines, dinosaurs, mermaids and unicorns to name just a few. These remain very popular and I have fulfilled many bespoke orders destined for ages ranging from newborn to 70!
I now enjoy making a wide range of gifts for both children and adults using many different crafts and techniques. My inspirations come from my love of animals, seasonal changes, landscapes and children’s stories.
