Full description
This kingfisher sculpture is a mini version of one listed elsewhere in my shop. It has been needle felted using woollen fibres and a barbed felting needle that binds the fibres together. White core fibres are sculpted into shape after which a top coat of blue and orange merino wool fibres is added with appropriate markings around the head. The legs are formed from wool wrapped wire, the eyes are beaded and a beak made from air dry clay has been added.
The kingfisher has been mounted on a perch which has also been needle felted, with a small circular wooden base. The kingfisher is approximately 10cm long with the ornament as a whole measuring approximately 13cm tall. Please note I have 2 of these kingfishers available that differ slightly due to their handmade nature, one will be sent at random.
