I never throw away wood scraps and always try to do something creative with odds and ends left over from a big project. This Walnut was left from building a mountain Dulcimer and has some of the loveliest colouring that I've seen. I'm really pleased with the end result.

Full description
Made with 'upcycled' wood (offcuts from a musical instrument build). This piece of beautifully-figured Walnut is inlayed with a stag's head in Holly. The dark Walnut contrasts with the pale and subtly-figured Holly and brings out the details of the design.
I've added a loop to the back to allow it to be hung on a wall.
140 x 110 x 3 mm solid walnut (not plywood). A natural finishing oil has been applied (about 5 coats) to give a satin finish.
