Left to my own devices, I tend to gravitate to weaving in earth colours - combinations of greens, blues and red/browns… But every so often it does one good to step out of the comfort zone, and to be reminded that there are other colours out there that can be fun. Here the opportunity to experiment came from a roving called Mary Lacy from Katie at Hilltop Cloud, which I have matched with the blue and purple colours in the warp.

Full description

This lightweight hand-woven scarf screams out at you in a beautiful deep purple, flecked with accents of bright pink and turquoise blue. The weft is hand-spun, and comprises 62% merino wool, 25% zwartbles wool and 25% linen. This was then hand-woven onto a tencel warp of amethyst purple, with three very thin (ie double thread) warp stripes of the turquoise blue. The scarf is 147 x 21.5 cm in size (excluding the fringed tassels). Hand-wash carefully at low temperature and lie flat to air dry; the scarf can be ironed at low heat.
