The Gorgon Medusa was the ultimate 'wronged woman', and unfairly punished for crimes committed against her. Medusa represents women's justified rage, and I think many of us need to tap into that energy, to avoid being trampled by the Patriarchy, at this point in time. Full description

This is a large porcelain brooch of the Gorgon Medusa, and when worn, and at 8cm x 8cm, (3" x 3") feels rather like a shield and weighs 55-60g. Particularly useful if you are feeling vulnerable but need to be brave. Worn over the heart they feel particularly reassuring. You can face anything with Medusa between your heart and the world. Each is hand painted individually and no two are exactly the same, and come in three main types, White porcelain with Green, White and Violet (Give Women Votes) borrowed from the suffragettes. Often Medusas eyes are described as 'golden', so some have amber eyes, unless they are green or purple. Type 2 in white porcelain with black details and hair. Those are durable and high fired, with a lockable pin at the back to keep the brooch secure, and with a glossy clear glaze. The third type is also high fired but unglazed in a black clay with gold outlines. This also has a lockable pin. More pictures to follow.
