I created a mini meadow in my garden and the Wild Carrots are the star of the show. They are only annuals but seed themselves all over the place creating foamy seas of white. Some have even escaped the garden and it makes me smile every time I see them. I had to think long and hard how to replicate their delicate form but I’m really pleased with the outcome. It is also the first time I have tinted my own grout and used the dark green background. I’m looking forward to creating more.

Full description
This original floral art is created in mosaic and feature Wild Carrot flowers in a forest green background. I created a muted green grout that softens the effect of the crazing giving this piece a subtle abstract quality.
I use beautiful Winckelmans tiles which are matt ceramic and come in soft muted tones. I hand cut each piece of tessera to create intricate images inspired by nature. The mosaic is mounted on a wooden canvas and the sides are part tiled to frame the plaque and give depth and is complete with hanging wire.
Dimensions: 16cm x 16cm x 2.5cm
Due to the wooden frame, this art is suitable for display indoors only.
Each wall plaque is one of a kind but I am able to make more in a similar design and colour palette on request. I am also open to commission, just contact me for a chat.
