This is an experimantal piece, made to try out stitching beads and lace directly to the silver wire, rather than having something suspended from a silver wire torc. The piece of gauze is something I had hanging around for a while so I added it in.

Full description
Lace necklace made on a length of heavy silver wire, the vintage lace, has some old, gold coloured mesh ribbon threaded through it, the lace is then attached by beadwork to the silver wire, the central section hangs below the wire in a V shape and the gap betwen the lace ends has beads stitched around to keep the V shape in place.
The lace has beads along both edges and a section of bead weaving at each end to extend the shape on the wire. Strands of vintage, seed and bugle beads, are curled around the lace, and there are several vintage crystal, drop shaped beads on the lower edge of the bead woven sections. Another of these crystal beads is suspended from a strand of beads from the centre of the wire. A vintage, mother of pearl leaf is stitched to the bottom of the V.
The Necklace is fastened with two lengths of narrow white ribbon, this is stitched to loops at the ends of the wire with a single seed bead. This allows the necklace to be worn as low or high as you like.
The silver section measures 25cm, each piece of ribbon is 56cm long allowing for adjustment in waring length, the lace is 6cm deep to the bottom of the crystal.
A baroque, and fantastical piece, ideal for a bride, or just to wear whenever you feel like it.
Many of the beads in this piece are vintage, the lace is also vintage from my collection.
I called it Elizabethan as it reminds me of that style, lots of beads, lace and gold.
