I am inspired particularly by textiles from the early to mid 20th century, especially the Bauhaus weavers. Art of the same period fires my creativity too, and this ceramic piece is a fusion of the two.

Full description
This stylish handmade individual ceramic vessel can be used as a vase, pencil pot, bathroom accessory, houseplant holder or simply a piece of modern art in your home. I made this one-off piece in black stoneware clay and decorated the surface with abstract bands and motifs in pastel shades which are fired into the clay – it’s not just paint! The inside is glazed with an iron lustre finish giving shades of russet, very dark blue and brown. The outside is the matt finish of the black clay and coloured slip of my original design. The vibe is mid-century modern and it will look striking in almost any room in your home. 12cm high x 8cm at the widest part of the oval base.
