Full description

Three small condiment spoons of different shapes and sizes, all old and well worn (hence a rather lower price than usual) and hand stamped with single word descriptions of the condiments for which they were intended: 'salty' on a salt spoon, 'saucy' on a longer-handled sauce scoop, and 'hot' on a mustard spoon. Or of course those words could have a different interpretation... it's up to you... these would make a very original Valentine's gift for a food lover!

The salt spoon is 11cm long and still has most of its original silver plating (it's tarnished but would polish up if you wanted to do that). It's a proper antique, you can tell that because it has a crown as part of its maker's mark on the back, the use of which was outlawed in 1896 to stop people getting confused with real sterling silver. Which this isn't.

The mustard spoon is in the classic 'fiddle pattern' design and is also probably Victorian. It's lost most of its silver plating and is hence a rather more brassy colour as you're seeing the base metal alloy showing through. It's 12cm long.

The sauce ladle is 15cm long and has no maker's mark or anything to indicate its origin or age. It has no remaining silver plating either. Tis a nice shape though, will add a touch of class to a sauceboat or syrup jug.

I have plenty more old spoons so if you have a different word you'd like to see on one, let me know!
