These landscape pieces are inspired by areas of my local coastline.
The Inner Forth has many layers of history, combined with nature and industrial heritage, providing a home to many animals and birds, such as migrant and wintering fowl eg. Shelduck, Pink Footed Geese and Waders.
This particular 'Coastline' piece depicts an area in Blackness, Scotland.
The changing seasons and light qaulity make this a stunning location at any time of the year.
This low relief, ceramic landscape is ready to hang immediately, bringing a bit of nature into your home.

This ceramic, low relief, landscape, has been created by layers of scratched and added textures, then coloured slip, applied when the clay is still wet, starting to define areas of land and sky.
After carefull drying and a first kiln firing, these landscapes can be worked into with various coloured special ceramic stains, to create moody skies, grasses, water and rocky surfaces.
The then near completed piece is then dipped into a clear glaze, whichwhen fired for a second time, deepens the colours and creates a smooth, glossy finish to touch.
This ceramic landscape comes ready to hang and measures approx 14cm sqaure with a depth of 1.3 cm mounted onto a wooden frame made from upcycled wood, measuring 30cm square, depth of 1 cm, painted in satin Moonlight White and wood colour on the reverse.
