This piece was started as a simple necklace inspired by a photograph of the moon Celadus, (Google it) I realised that I didn't like how it was going so I designed the large pendant section using the Citrine disc and moonstone. I absolutely love the finished result. The Vintage crystal beads came from some pieces that belonged to my mother, the pear shaped drop was from a 60s evening dress.

This dramatic necklace is made using hundreds of tiny seed beads needle woven together
At the centre of the pendant part there is a large Citrine disc with a bead woven mount that is worked into the rest of the necklace, a row of silver lined vintage beads form the foundation of the mount, while white and pale yellow vintage beads complete it. At the bottom of the pendant a small oval moonstone has been similarly woven into the beads. These stones have a white leather backing to conceal the stitches that hold all those beads on.
A vintage crystal, pear shaped,drop bead is suspended from the point of the necklace, other round, vintage crystal beads are worked into the necklace part.
The necklace is fastened with a loop of beads and an old mother of pearl button.
Some of the seed beads used in the necklace section are also vintage, particularly the tiny, translucent, blue ones that edge it.
This piece measures roughly 6"/ 15cm to the bottom of the pendant crystal, measuring from the upper edge of the necklace section..
The necklace sits roughly on the collar bones, with the pendant part laying on the chest.
A dramatic statement piece of wearable art suitable for a wedding or any other special occasion.
Looks fantastic against black or another strong dark colour.
