Inspired by wanting to capture the energy of a tiger more than the anatomical accuracies of a tiger!

Full description
Tiger Materializing is a large semi-abstract oil painting of a tiger appearing out of a vibrantly coloured background. It is 48x36x1.5 inches. The background is highly textured (as there is another painting beneath it which did not work) and I decided to see what I could create out of the texture created from that one. It was almost like sculpting and what eventually materialized was a tigress. She is beautiful and lethal and is a powerfully muscled creature though I have deliberately avoided being too precise with her anatomy and fur. The inspiration behind it being simply a celebration of how beautiful tigers are and what a tragedy it would be to lose them from the world. It is more abstract than my usual style but does contain my favourite colours and the contrast I like to make between traditional vs abstract. This, for me, makes the painting much more interesting than some wildlife style tiger paintings as it shows the spiritual energy of the tiger in addition to its distinctive fur patterns. Dedicated to all those people who are working to protect and save wildlife and their habitats. Please keep doing what you are doing.
