The inspiration for the painting was a walk I took in Friston Forest in East Sussex near the Seaford coast one October.

Full description
Autumn Calling is a gem of a painting that glitters and glows and invites the viewer to travel an autumn path with its myriad rainbow autumn colours all around. It is 36x24x1.5 inches. From the dark edges of the forest the viewer is led along a path towards the sunlight that winds behind a tree on the right. The painting was made by building up lots of overlapping transparent colours which is almost like a stained-glass window. The inspiration for the painting was a walk I took in Friston Forest in East Sussex near the Seaford coast one October. The sense of awe is one many people will share with me if they walk in woodland. This is due partly to the majesty of the trees and leaves in autumn but also because, when in a forest, you could be anywhere and at any time period. It is sometimes a bit disturbing but mostly it is exciting and therapeutic and I have tried to capture this sense of awe in this painting. Painted on deep edge canvas, ready to hang, no frame needed and comes with certificate of authenticity
