This is another of my weird copper and silver fused pieces, I had accumulated some random bits of silver, some of it cut from sheet and some failed silver clay pieces. It's unique, as they all are, but I rather like the lumps of silver perched in lakes of melted silver, where most of the others are made using wire.
It has a lovely eccentric quality suitable for anyone with their own sense of style.

Full description
Heart shaped eccentric pendant made from copper. The pendant has four, random fragments of recycled silver fused to it's surface. These are the islands of the title.
When the silver melts, to fuse to the copper, some of it floods over the surface, this creates almost a plated effect. This is totally random and fairly uncontrolled, so no two of my pendants are ever the same.
The eccentric shaped heart has been placed in a doming block, to give it a more three dimensional effect, almost a wave shape.
The heart is approximately 5cm long at it's longest point and approximately 3cm at it's widest.
After the heart has been cleaned and polished a little extra heat is applied, to give the copper some interesting colours around the silver, greens and blues and even a little purple. This is also not predictable, the colours that appear are dependant on the air temperature and all sorts of other things that are too scientific for me.
The pendant hangs by a little copper jump ring from a very fine, dark brown leather thong, this is made to be adjustable so the pendant can be worn long or short, the shortest length hangs roughly at, or just below, the collar bones approximately 45cm. The longest is about mid chest.
A lovely gift to someone you love and something that no-one else will ever have.
