Are you someone who likes to ‘germinate’ an idea for a new knitting project? Do you feel a spark of excitement when you begin matching-up your chosen pattern with the perfect yarn? Or maybe the real enjoyment is when you cast on those first few tantalising stitches?
Did you know that there’s a botanical equivalent to this feeling? It’s called “quiescence” and it’s when seeds are resting, waiting to germinate and grow. As soon as I read about it, it quickly became the inspiration behind this beautiful shawl design!
The Quiescence Shawl begins with a few of those exciting cast-on stitches and quickly grows into a large easy-to-wear asymmetrical triangular shawl. The shawl’s soothing garter-stitch background is covered with a beautiful travelling slipped-stitch and eyelet pattern, suggesting germinating seeds and spring-like growth.
It’s my hope that as your Quiescence Shawl grows, your knitting skills and knowledge will grow also!

Full description
Knitted in two colours of yarn, Quiescence is an asymmetric triangular shawl with a moreish allover texture pattern. It's knitted from one corner down to the bottom edge, and uses simple short rows to elongate the shape. Fringing is attached after knitting.
The pattern includes 2 size options (this kit is for the smaller two-colour size), charts (with written equivalent instructions), photographs, a schematic & has been professionally tech edited.

150g of Jamieson & Smith's 2ply Jumper Weight
(light 4ply/fingering-weight 115m per 25g; 100% Real Shetland Wool)
100g in main colour and 50g in contrast colour
